Afterschool FAQs


1. When is the registration deadline for AfterSchool?
We do not have a specific registration deadline. We will continue to accept registrations throughout the school year as long as space is available at the particular site location.

2. Do I have to send my child all school year? We offer AfterSchool care all school year, but children are welcome to attend as often as they would like to. If families only need care for 2 weeks out of the school year, that is acceptable. The registration fee remains the same amount no matter how often your child(ren) attends AfterSchool.

3. Do I pay for the days that my child(ren) is not at AfterSchool: With our program, our schedule is flexible and parents only pay for the days that their child (ren) attend AfterSchool.

4. Who do I pay? What type of payment method is accepted? All payments will be collected at the end of the week after the services have been provided. The AfterSchool staff will be accepting payments at all locations.

5. What is the difference between the YMCA Member and Program Participant rate? In order to qualify for the YMCA member rate, the child(ren) must be on the family/single parent membership. Parents who have an individual membership or are not a member of the YMCA must pay the program participant price for their child’s AfterSchool attendace.

6. What if my child is first going into pre-school or kindergarten this Fall and I am not sure if we will qualify for the reduced or free lunch at school? If you are not sure if you will qualify for the reduced or free lunch at school, you are welcome to fill out the YMCA Scholarship Form and return it to us. After we evaluate it, we will contact you with your AfterSchool fees.

7. Where will pick-up be?

Ferdinand/Tri-County YMCA: Parents/Caregivers will enter through the front doors, head down the hallway, and take the first left. The AfterSchool group will be in the first room to your right. If the group is not in that location, they may be found in the gym or activity center.

Pine Ridge: Parents/Caregivers will drive around to the back of the school building and enter through the art room doors. They are located straight across from the playground.

Holy Trinity: Parents/Caregivers will enter through the doors next to the flag pole, located across from the playground. You will go down the steps and continue to the endress hall.

5th Street: Parents/Caregivers will enter through the non-flagpole doors. A sign will be posted on the door with a phone number to call. Staff will answer and will greet you at the door. The doors remained locked throughout the day.
