THERAPY POOL AND SAUNA
Water Fitness
Water exercise classes are for every body and every fitness level. The water environment allows easier movement, less stress on the joints, and the buoyancy for increased mobility. Strengthen your soul, your heart, and your mind with our inspiring instructors, effective exercises, and motivating music.
Therapy Pool Guidelines
1) Access to the Therapy Pool and the Therapy Room will be limited to active YMCA Members 18 years and older.
- Children under 18 need special permission from the Aquatic Director.
2) Access to the Therapy Pool is limited to posted times only.
3) All members must sign out an access card to enter the pool area.
- Card must be returned via the blue drop box in the pool area.
- A $10 fee will be applied to anyone who does not return the key within 24 hours.
4) Anyone entering the pool must shower off before entering the pool. There is a shower on the pool deck.
5) Appropriate attire must be worn in the pool and sauna.
6) Pool time will be limited to 45 minutes.
7) Sauna time will be limited to 15 minutes.
8) Therapy Pool is a swim at your own risk pool. A lifeguard will not always be on duty.
9) Members are more than welcome to use any pool equipment that is in the area. It must be returned to the correct location.
10) Members that want to bring their own gear must have it checked by the Aquatic Director before use.
11) Members must dry off prior to accessing the rest of the facility.
12) All exercise classes require pre-registration to attend.
13) Open pool times mean the pool is open for YMCA Members 18 years and older. Please be considerate of other members concerning space/equipment/current when using the pool during this time.
14) No running on the pool deck.
15) No food on the pool deck.
16) No diving into the water.
Therapy Pool Group Exercise Classes
Get in shape, have fun, and build friendships in a variety of water group exercise classes. Work at your own ability level during a variety of water exercise classes with the encouragement from friendly, welcoming certified instructors. Greater mobility, reduced pain and fatigue, increased muscle strength, and enhanced sleep quality are just a few of the benefits of a regular fitness workout in the pool.
Sauna Guidelines
1) The Sauna can take up to 30 minutes to get up to the desired temperature. If someone has set the sauna to get to a certain temperature, do not adjust it.
2) Do not set the sauna below 140 degrees.
3) Limit water usage on the heater.
4) Proper coverage must be worn in the sauna.
5) Limit your sauna usage to 15 minutes after preferred temperature is reached.
6) Limit sauna to 3 people at one time.
7) If you feel dizzy at anytime while in the sauna, exit immediately.
8) A temperature of 176+ is required to reach cardiovascular benefits.
